Thailand has a million and one beautiful tropical islands. Some are overdeveloped, while others only have a single bungalow on them. You’ll find everything here. Some of the best islands here are – Ko Samet,Ko Taruato, Ko Lanta, Ko Chang, Ko Tao, Ko Jum, Ko Lipe, Ko Phi Phi, Phuket, the Similan Islands, and Ko Samui.
For those seeking culture and excitement, Bangkok will deliver. Numerous tours are available utilizing all of the city's thrilling public transportation options to a variety of sites such as The Royal Grand Palace which houses the Emerald Buddha, Chinatown, and Jim Thompson's House Museum. For a change of pace, tours are available that travel to the countryside for a paddleboat ride through the authentic floating Tha Kha Market. Whether one's interest is in nightlife, temples, or shopping, Bangkok will not disappoint.
Surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters, Phuket will appeal to lovers of the sea. While visiting Phuket, visitors will want to take advantage of tours that will allow them to participate in tsunami relief efforts.
For those wanting to get off the beaten path, sea canoe tours are also available to lesser known areas of Phang Nga Bay, where visitors will discover spectacular flora and fauna.
The best time of year to visit Thailand is between November to February.
The high season (cool/dry) is from November to March. Bangkok is “coolest” during this time (but still averaging a hot 29ºC/85°F), and it’s also the driest. If you plan on being in the north during this time, temperatures can drop quickly in the evenings. Bring warm clothing!
Shoulder season is from April to June, and it is HOT. Temperatures can be unbearable for those who are not use to them. The low season is the rainy season, from July to October. Rainfall can be dramatic – ranging from light showers to major flooding. June and August have the heaviest rains, but things wind down during October. You might still get some afternoon showers, but October is also generally a good time to visit.
